The press room
Rare books of magick
The scarcest thing we keep. Grimoires and hand-bound working ledgers, herbal manuscripts, divination tracts, alchemical folios and the gold-spined volumes of the older occult press — each one described honestly for what it actually holds, page count, binding condition and all.
We do not reprint, and we do not dress up a modern book as an antique. When a volume is one of a kind, the listing says so, and photographs of the actual copy are available before you buy.
The categories
What passes through here
Books arrive from estates, from members moving on, and occasionally from a private collection being broken up. They come one at a time. What is listed here is what is actually on the shelf today.
Grimoires & working books
Circle, name and order of a rite — the ceremonial volumes, and the blank ledgers ruled for writing your own.
Herbals & physick
The old plant books, where a herb is entered under its planet, its part of the body and its season of cutting.
Divination
Cards, scrying and dream books — the diviner's tracts, often sold with the deck they were written around.
Alchemy & emblems
Plated folios of the Great Work, where a stage is shown in an engraving rather than explained in a sentence.
The older occult press
The 19th and early 20th century publishers, gold on the spine and cheap paper inside, still the broadest door in.
Manuscript & hand-bound
One-off volumes, hand-ruled and hand-bound, that come to us through estates and leave one at a time.
A note on scarcity. Rare stock does not repeat. If a title in which you are interested has gone, tell us — we keep a list of what members are looking for and we call the person first when it turns up.
A to Z
The full list
Listed A to Z by title, grouped by letter. Stock on books is often a single copy — first come, only served.

The book is the least of the work, and the beginning of it.
